Since Supergirl Season 4 ended up being a bummer with Red Daughter not being much of a wake up call to Supergirl just by being soft like Kara instead of having her kill off Alex to make Supergirl seriously regret being so stubborn with her pathological ego throughout the show as well as CW choosing to rip us off with the Leviathan and perhaps Talia al Ghul instead of the Fatal Five over their obsession with Eve Teschmester, it is time for the show runners to wake up and listen to what we want if they want to keep the series going longer after next year and this is what they need to do to make Supergirl Season 5 better than season 4.
Have Lena steal the show as Season 5's True Big Bad
After discovering Supergirl was Kara and everyone lying to her behind her back, Lena became shocked and despite remaining friends with the girl of steel and company pretending nothing happened between her and Lex, her hatred with Supergirl is now growing and while CW may seem to be going to far, screwing with us by choosing different bad guys from a different hero's rogue's gallery, chances are that Lena will later steal the show by either killing the leader of the Leviathan for command of the zealots or killing the old lady stopping Eve from leaving and then joining the pack as a leading member after she becomes a supervillainess. While most fans are sure to expect Lena to become Superwoman, CW may pull off a slight twist that will involve amalgamating the character with another villain from the Superman comics, one that would shift focus on her mother's side of her heritage; her real late mother's side.
With Lena yet to antagonize Supergirl, a simple twist of fate is to be asserted throughout the first half of the show before Crisis on Infinite Earths airs this winter, she would get herself caught in the crossfire of a skirmish between the D.E.O. and the Leviathan, taking a bullet, lethal poison dart or an impalement for Supergirl, Alex, Kelly, or James. This is to happen before the mega epic crossover event set to air this year. Then, after her funeral, a curse that would have been bestowed upon her family for years will trigger, eventually reincarnating her into Supergirl's most aggressive foe from the New Earth era who was always hellbent on killing the girl of steel; Silver Banshee.
Since Italia Ricci portrayed Siobhan Smythe from season 1, Katie McGrath's portrayal of the character would also have her real name in the show be readdressed as Lena McDougal. She'll be based on the New Earth version of the Silver Banshee and with her character expected to seek vengeance on Supergirl, not only would she aim on cleaning Earth of all aliens in a way that doesn't involve killing innocent human beings just to do a better job than her brother and the girl of steel, but she will also target the person she is closest with the most in efforts of spiting Kara for her pathological ego and empathy for everything when everyone knows that you can't always save everyone and spare the worst of threats like Reign.
Plus, much like Lena, McDougal also had issues with her brother as well.
Lena to kill Alex Danvers
While Alex has been a big favorite for many Supergirl CW fans, she as Kara's sister has always been closet with her, her death at the hands of the Luthor she idolized as a truly good person would crush her hard. Surely people wouldn't want Alex to be killed off because of how long Chyler Leigh has been on the show but come on. Couldn't any of you see just how irritating Supergirl has been with how full of herself she can be at times? Of how stubborn she was not thinking about the consequences when she wouldn't let Rhea leave with Mon-El, of how her compulsive empathy stalled Earth from averting the Daximite invasion which led Lena into disputes with Morgan Edge, leading to the Awakening of Reign? Of how Kara's refusal to kill and live with having killed Reign leading her into creating Red Daughter? And with Red Daughter, despite having framed Supergirl, not being much of a wake up call by being soft like Kara instead of anything hostile like Davis Bloome from Smallville?
Surely, they do have a way of entertaining and surprising fans, but they can't keep clowning and lazing around forever with the plot of each season. They have to straighten up at some point and because Lena has been close with Supergirl and everyone of her friends and allies since season 2, knowing who they are and what each of them are capable of, and by becoming the show's second Silver Banshee instead of Ultra Woman from the comics, she would possess the capability of outwitting Martian Manhunter (or that doppleganger of his brought into Earth-38 by the Monitor), Dreamer, and anyone else's attempts of thwarting her vengeance against Supergirl in any way and by having Lena kill Alex the same way she killed Astra in front of Kara, that act of betrayal would definately help Supergirl come to her senses better in the future where she won't always keep being so stubbornly devoted to no killing in an obsessive way and understand that she can't save, spare, and redeem everyone.
Still, if anyone feel shocked and distraught by Alex's death, you can always count on showrunner Jessica Queller to bring her back to life, even it means making Kara's sister the Arrowverse interpretation of Superwoman instead of Lucy Lane.
Have Italia Ricci and Odetta Annable return as Siobhan Smythe and Samantha Arias
Having been ignored and absent for 3 seasons now and heavily occupied with her role in Designated Survivor as well as having her first born child soon, Italia Ricci really needs to come back for Supergirl next season. It doesn't need to be right away and for the first half of season 5 this year, but it should be sometime during the second half of season 5 next year. Even if it means missing out on a few episodes of the upcoming 4th season of Designated Survivor.
Once she starts reprises her role as Siobhan Smythe, she will start off by being broken out by Silver Banshee 2 (Lena), who later tells the later about Kara being Supergirl and that two men they liked betrayed them because of her and both James and Winn's supernatural exs will form an alliance against Supergirl, taking Nia and Jonn hostage so they won't intervene with their business with the last daughter of Krypton.
Eventually, when Lena kills Alex to hurt Supergirl for her hubris, her vanity, and faulty perspective on things, Siobhan will walk out on Kara's fallen idol and tell her former rival at Catco about her family's banshee curse, the reasons for being jealous of her, and to why she was trying to send the footage of Supergirl fighting the K'Hund to Metropolis.
Next, the two will head out on their own to see Sam (reprised by Odetta Anabbel) and her daughter to explain what happened to Alex and what Lena has become. After Siobhan and Sam discuss how coincidental it is for the two of them to be possessed by the source of their powers, Lena will ambush them at the new homestead and before she tries to kill the first Silver Banshee for her betrayal, Supergirl will stop her and then after a tough fight, they will argue.
Lena, as Silver Banshee 2 will tell Supergirl that the reason she turned against her is not only because she never entrusted her with her superhero identity but mostly because of how disgusted she's grown with Kara being so childish and arrogant on her perspective on things got her into trouble over the past few years and how annoying she finds the kryptonian for her ego.
This will leave Kara more heart broken by Lena's betrayal after looking up to her as good person to everyone in the world her whole life since season 2, but then Sam will step in, telling her old friend that she's become what she always was against, persuading the new Silver Banshee into sparing her, Siobhan and her daughter Ruby, but advises them to stay out of her way next time and leaves to join the Leviathan.
At the end, Kara and Siobhan will finally have put their differences behind them and become good friends like they were in the New 52 as the redeem Silver Banshee will stay with Sam and Ruby to keep them out of danger while cross referencing another solution to breaking the banshee curse.
Have Superman and Lex Luthor return for Supergirl Episode 100
What better way to celebrate Supergirl's 100th episode than to have it take place in Smallville where Kara meets up with her cousin Clark Kent/Superman and his nemesis Lex Luthor at the farm? There, Clark and Lex will discuss with Supergirl and company on what caused the two former friends to become enemies in flashbacks and it may feature General Zod and Krypton's military guild as part of the whole story. Lex will also reveal the other side of Lena's heritage to Supergirl and how the half sister he eventually abused over the years would become a supernatural nemesis to the girl of steel.
This theory would be worth having fulfilled by the CW show runners if they can take a look at this article before advancing through production of every next episode as well as changing some of the scripts to ensure Lena's transformation into another Silver Banshee, stealing the spotlight from the Leviathan as the real main antagonist of season 5, and reminded on having Ricci and Annabel back on reprising their roles from seasons 1 and 3.
If you agree with everything in this article, feel free to help persuade the showrunners into utilizing every information listed in this article for upcoming episodes in season 5. It would help make Supergirl more worth watching than letting them make the show suck anymore than it already is right now with what they got going on.
